Leg cramps is a state where a muscle of the leg gets contracted, thus causing pain and discomfort. Severe leg pain, muscle starching and difficulty in moving the leg are main symptoms seen when someone is suffering from leg cramps. Listed below are some easy and effective home remedies for leg cramp treatment:
- A hot shower is very effective in treatment of leg cramps. Take hot water shower before going to bed and also pour some hot water on the aching parts.
- Using hot water bags on the affected parts of leg is very effective in curing and treating leg cramps.
- Daily drink one glass slight warm milk before going to sleep is easiest and yet effective way for leg cramps treatment.
- Red raspberry leaf tea is also very helpful in leg cramp treatment; drink it in the morning and evening. It gives relief from leg cramps. For tea preparation boil one cup of water with a tsp red raspberry tea. Boil it for few minutes, then strain and drink it warm.
- Prepare chamomile tea and drink it 5 to 6 times daily for about 15 days. For preparing chamomile tea take one cup of water and add around three teaspoons of chamomile flower to it. Now keep this water to a boil for a few minutes. After that strain it and add sugar or honey, and drink warm. It is very beneficial in treatment of leg cramps.
- People, who frequently face leg cramps problems, push your toes against the wall and try to stretch your calf muscles. Repeat this pose for 20 times.
- When you are on bed, try to stretch your legs as far as you can and remain it in the same pose at least for 30 minutes. While standing, press your heel on the ground and try to bend toes in upward direction. This is an excellent way to cure leg cramps.
- Make mixture of one tsp of apple cider vinegar, one tbsp of calcium lactate, and one tsp of honey and add this mixture in half glass of warm water. Have this daily once. It will be beneficial in leg cramps treatment.
- Essential oils, such as lavender oil, rosemary oil and eucalyptus oil massage is also very helpful in cramp treatment. After massaging, cover the affected parts of the body with a towel dipped in hot water.
- Eat 2-3 bananas daily; it increases the potassium in the body, thus give relief to a person suffering from cramps. Having 2 tsp of honey daily is also very beneficial and helpful in preventing leg cramps. Also increase consumption of foods rich in potassium, calcium, and magnesium in daily diet.
