Hysteria is an ancient disease. Hysteria is a psychological and nervous disorder occurs due to extreme anxiety. It is described as lack of control over activities and sentiments and unexpected conclusive seizures and emotional burst. Hysteria frequently results from reserved mental difference. Hysteria is an emotional situation, wherein the mind of a person gets affected by uncontrollable terror or emotional extremes. However it happens with both the sexes, but the occurrence is more evident in young women of 14 to 25 of age, because of their normal sensitive nature. In general Hysteria tends to occur just about the time of puberty and becomes less common after the age of 25. It is very rare after the age of 40 or 45.
Anxiety is the key cause for hysteria, but there are some other factors for its occurrence.
Hysteria patients frequently suffer from phobia (any type of fear), lack of self-control, hopelessness and seizures. Causes of hysteria also include sexual excess or sexual domination, joblessness, hereditary, mental strain, tension, fear, concerned, depression, and many more. Heavy inhalations, teeth tightening, tensing of muscles, inflammation of veins mainly in the neck part, irregular attacks of laughter and crying are the common indications of hysteria. Treating hysteria at home is the most effective way to deal with the disorder.
