Dry Chapped lips is a situation of lips where the lips become dry and probably cracked. Dry chapped lips are the result of reduced moisture in the skin on and around the lips. It is mainly caused because of the disappearance of moisture. Frequently the lips turn out to be dry because the coating of oil that is naturally formed by the body to cover the lips is removed or is deficient.
Chapped, dry or split lips are a general disorder. Unlike the other parts of the skin, lips do not generate natural oils required to defend against cold winds and low humidity. Due to that, the lips become chapped or dry. Some of basic indications of Dry chapped lips are redness and roughness of lips, bleeding, lips look dehydrated, loss of moisture from the lips, minor pain, regular licking of the lips and tenderness of lips. Excess of exposure to the cold and windy environment or sun light, allergies to cosmetic products, infections, drugs, dehydration, regular use of chemicals or soaps are some of the causes of dry chapped lips.
