The heart is a very important organ of body that pumps blood, with its life-giving oxygen and nutrients, to all organs of the body. If the pumping activity of the heart becomes inadequate than other essential organs including brain and kidneys suffer. And if the heart discontinues working then death takes place within few minutes. Our lives are entirely dependent on the efficient action of the heart.
There are lots of heart diseases, and they affect the heart in different ways. But the ultimate difficulty with any of heart disease is that, they can disturb the fundamental pumping action of the heart. The heart is the hub of the cardiovascular system. Cardiovascular disease is a set of troubles that arise when the heart and blood vessels aren't working the manner they should.
Some of the common heart diseases are:
In case of angina heart is not getting enough blood because of that patient feel pain in the chest.
In atherosclerosis excessive buildup of cholesterol and fat makes arteries narrower so less amount of blood can flow through it. Those extra deposits of fat and cholesterol are called plaque.
Arteriosclerosis is mainly hardening of the arteries. In this case heart arteries become thickened and are no longer as flexible.
Heart attack occurs, when blood clot the arteries or other obstruction cuts blood flow to the heart.
In case of stroke brain doesn't get sufficient blood due to clotting in heart arteries or due to blood vessel burst.
