Yoga for Arthritis
Simple words Arthritis is "Joint Inflammation". Inflammation is specified by inflexibility, hardness, swelling, reddishness or warmness in the joints. Due to arthritis any joint of the body can become painful. Usually, when someone experiences arthritis, these symptoms are shown:
For Arthritis patients, slow and controlled movement of joints is useful. It recovers blood circulation of joints and removes unwanted pollutant and waste stuffs. But the problem is that when patient make an effort to move his or her limbs & joints then pain enhanced so patient stop moving limbs and trouble increases. Due to pain no movements and due to lack of movements, the condition becomes bad.
So that before stating yoga for arthritis, few points should be remembed:
- Noticeable loss of flexibility in joints
- Tremendous weakness
- Lack of energy
- Be calm and patient and take your time.
- Softly drive yourself to your limits.
- Never force arthritis joint this will cause damage.
- First check your limitations with your doctor.
- Start with what you feel ease for you.
Asanas for Arthritis:
Yoga surely helps out in Arthritis. Easy asanas, and basic movements help in increasing circulation of blood in joints and limbs. Different Asanas like Trikonasana, Veerasana, Vrikshasana, Tadagasana, Makarasana, Pavanmuktasana, Hastashirasana, Swastikasana, Ekpadsahajhasta, Dwipadsahajhasta, Januhastasana, Bhujangasana are useful. Slow, balanced and controlled movements are particularly suggested. For arthritis patients, maintain the asanas for long is not suitable.
Basic Pranayama is suggested for Arthritis, it involves deep breathing. Pranayama with breathing via right nostril and exhalation by means of both nostrils and making a sound of Hmm from the throat is very helpful for Arthritis patients.

Now a days we all are moving away from the nature and have created stress and unhealthy life style for us, basically stress free life is necessary for good health.
